FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

ANNAPOLIS, MD (March 18, 2026)-

Today, the Maryland League of Conservation Voters announced its endorsements of Brooke Lierman for Comptroller and Anthony Brown for Attorney General. Maryland LCV Executive Director Kim Coble released the following statement on the endorsements.

“Maryland LCV was proud to endorse Brooke Lierman’s historic candidacy in 2022. As our state’s first woman to hold the office of Comptroller, she has prioritized considering environmental impacts in state projects. In the coming years, her office will help analyze the cost of greenhouse gas emissions because she knows the future of Maryland is tied to our environmental resilience. We are proud to endorse her vision and stand beside Brooke Lierman for another term.”

“Attorney General Anthony Brown recognizes the importance of protecting our natural resources, from our historic waterways to Maryland’s public lands. He’s consistently stood strong against the federal government’s attempts to roll back environmental laws, programs, and funding. That’s why we’re proud to endorse him for Attorney General, just as we did in 2022. He made history as Maryland’s first Black Attorney General, and we believe he’ll continue taking historic steps forward in his second term.”

Additional Maryland LCV endorsements are expected in the coming weeks.

For more than 45 years, Maryland LCV has proudly campaigned to elect pro-conservation candidates. Before each state election, the Maryland League of Conservation Voters (Maryland LCV) board of directors and staff evaluate the voting records of incumbents as well as candidate responses to comprehensive questionnaires before making endorsement decisions.
