Maryland League of Conservation Voters Releases Final Primary Election Endorsements
Endorsements include incumbents, candidates for open seats, plus two challengers in District 39
Annapolis, MD (May 26, 2026) – Today, the Maryland League of Conservation Voters (Maryland LCV) released its final list of endorsements for the Maryland Senate and House of Delegates for the 2026 primary elections. These endorsements follow the conclusion of the legislative session, which saw energy and affordability take center stage.
The list includes nine candidates, five of whom are incumbents. Among the endorsees is Amar Mukunda, who is challenging Senate Majority Leader Nancy King, and Robert Wu, who is looking to unseat Delegate Gabriel Acevero, both in District 39 of Montgomery County.
“Senator King has had a strong environmental voting record for many years,” said Kim Coble, Maryland LCV’s Executive Director. “Unfortunately, she has not kept up with the environmental priorities of her district and the state on issues of clean transportation. We are excited to be supporting the fresh voices of Amar Mukunda for Senator and Robert Wu for Delegate in District 39, both of whom have demonstrated commitment to environmental leadership, especially in support of environmental justice, clean energy, and reducing pollution from the transportation sector.” Senator King was the only Democrat to vote against the Transportation and Climate Alignment Act during this year’s legislative session, after also openly opposing the bill in 2025. Delegate Acevero did not request an endorsement from Maryland LCV.
In addition to the incumbent Delegates Jennifer White-Holland (District 10), Gabriel Moreno (District 13), Sarah Wolek (District 16), Jeff Long (District 27B), and Ashanti Martinez (District 22), the list includes newcomers Robin Harvey (District 10) and Molly McKee-Seabrook (District 22) both vying for open seats in Baltimore and Prince George’s Counties, respectively. Harvey, a public health professional and community leader, looks to fill the vacancy left by retiring Speaker-Emerita Adrienne Jones. McKee-Seabrook, former chief of staff to Senator Bill Ferguson and now working for the University of Maryland, is running in a district where there are two open seats left by the retirement of Delegates Anne Healey and Nicole Williams.
The endorsed incumbents have consistently demonstrated their commitment to environmental issues. Each has a high lifetime environmental voting record on Maryland LCV’s Scorecard for lawmakers, as well as a strong record of leadership and partnership.
Since 1979, Maryland LCV has proudly campaigned to elect pro-conservation candidates. Before each state election, the Maryland League of Conservation Voters (Maryland LCV) board of directors evaluates the voting records of incumbents as well as candidate responses to comprehensive questionnaires before making endorsement decisions.
