Maryland League of Conservation Voters’ Endorsed Candidates Celebrate Strong Primary Election Performance

Candidates who supported environmental issues and democracy have stellar results

Annapolis, MD (June 24, 2026) – The Maryland League of Conservation Voters released the following statement in the wake of last night’s Primary Election results:

The message from Maryland’s voters came through loud and clear. Candidates who support clean energy solutions to the affordability crisis were chosen at a nearly unanimous rate.

Victories by President Bill Ferguson (District 46) and challenger Amar Mukunda (District 39) highlighted the successes in the Senate, while Robin Harvey’s win in District 10 was one of the standouts in the House of Delegates.

All nine Senate candidates who had a competitive race and received a score of 100% on the 2026 Maryland LCV Environmental Scorecard won.

In the House, the candidates who scored 100% on the 2026 Maryland LCV Environmental Scorecard had a success rate of 98% (58 out of 59) in their races.

“The election results confirm that Maryland voters recognize that candidates who are good for the environment are the ones voters want to represent them in the Maryland General Assembly,” said Maryland LCV Executive Director Kim Coble. “We congratulate all our victorious candidates, and we now look forward to the fall campaigns.

Also, of note in the House, Maryland LCV-endorsed candidates Matt Johnston (District 30B), Chuck Cook (District 33B), and Josh Hastings (District 38B) all advanced to challenge incumbents in the general election in the fall.
