In case you have not heard, Maryland’s Public Service Commission decided to hold an unprecedented public hearing Saturday, January 18th that could decide the future of renewable offshore wind energy in Maryland.

Offshore wind,  in addition to helping reduce greenhouse gas emissions, will also create an estimated 25,000 new “green collar” jobs and $1.5 billion in income in Maryland. But opponents are determined to stop this transition to carbon-free energy by  attending the hearing and urging the Commission to stop renewable offshore wind in its tracks.

While the hearing topic is limited to the size of wind turbines proposed for Maryland’s two existing projects, make no mistake: Opponents of clean energy are using this hearing to undo your hard work as a clean energy leader by stopping these renewable offshore wind projects in Maryland.
