Your End of the Year Gift!
Your End of the Year Gift!
We are at a turning point. 2018 is a critical electoral year for all of us. All 188 legislators and state-wide officials are up for re-election. We saw what happened in Virginia and New Jersey, and I know that with a little hard work we can elect a pro-environment state government from top to bottom.
Not only does Maryland LCV help state and local environmental candidates get elected — we hold lawmakers accountable for their environmental performances once in office. None of this would be possible without regular people like you and me, along with thousands like us across the state, coming together to support Maryland LCV and the Conservation Voter Movement. Maryland LCV’s Environmental Scorecard is the best tool out there to see which legislators share our environmental values and which ones put special interests first.
Please take this chance to renew YOUR commitment to this important work and every donation made before December 31st will be TRIPLED by a generous donor!
If you prefer to pay by check, you will be given that option on the payment options page of this form.

Brian Frosh ATTORNEY GENERAL
Brian Frosh has spent his career championing important environmental laws that protect the health and safety of all Marylanders, including the Maryland Recycling Act, a ban on oil drilling in the Chesapeake Bay, the Brownelds Revitalization Act, strict requirements for more ecient automobile emissions standards resulting in reduced carbon emissions and air pollution, and sti penalties for polluting our water and stealing state natural resources. As Maryland’s Attorney General, he now works to ensure those laws are enforced.
Collin O’Mara PRESIDENT/CEO, NATIONAL WILDLIFE FEDERATION
Under Collin O’Mara’s leadership, National Wildlife Federation is protecting wildlife ranging from bison to monarch butteries, ensuring healthy waters and sustainable habitats, advancing environmental education, and connecting people with the great outdoors. Prior to NWF, O’Mara led Delaware’s Department of Natural Resources & Environmental Control, and he was a primary architect of the City of San Jose’s Green Vision.
JOHN V. KABLER AWARD to Central Maryland Beekeepers Association
This year the Central Maryland Beekeepers Association worked hard in Annapolis – along with other area beekeepers and the Smart on Pesticides Campaign – to lobby legislators and advocate for the Pollinator Protection Act. The “beeks” played an important role in Maryland becoming the first state in the country to pass restrictions on consumer use of toxic neonicitinoid pesticides, which harm bees, birds, butteries, and other wildlife.
LEGISLATOR OF THE YEAR AWARD to Senator Catherine Pugh
Senator Pugh has been a dedicated public servant representing Baltimore City since 1999. In 2007 she was elected to the State Senate where she has served as, among other things, Chair of the Legislative Black Caucus and as Senate Majority Leader. Her commitment to both clean energy and expanding economic opportunities for women and minorities merged in her successful sponsorship of the Clean Energy Jobs Act which expanded the goal of Renewable Portfolio Standard to 25% by the year 2020. She is the Democratic candidate for Mayor of Baltimore City

I’m in for Fair Elections Howard!
I’m in for Fair Elections Howard!
Across Maryland, corporate and mega-donor money has way too much influence in our elections — affecting who can run for office, the issues that are debated, who wins, and ultimately, the public policy made. Now we can shift power back to the people of Howard County with small-donor public financing: a voluntary program that gives matching funds to candidates who seek small donations and reject large and corporate contributions. Like the success in Montgomery County, together we can establish a small-donor public finance program. On November 8th, Howard County can be next.
Count me in! I support empowering We The People in Howard County elections, not big money!

Calling on the County Council to pass CB30 to finalize the Howard County Citizens’ Election Fund
In November, Howard County residents voted to establish the Citizens’ Election Fund directing the County Council to create a new program to curb the influence of large and corporate donors.
Now we’re calling on the County Council to pass CB30 to finalize the Howard County Citizens’ Election Fund in May for a more accountable local government.
Tell Governor Hogan to stand up for Maryland’s coast!
Tell Governor Hogan to stand up for Maryland’s coast!
Once again, Marylanders who care about our coast must come together to fight against Dirty Energy. We haven’t seen Governor Hogan speak out against opening Maryland’s coast to drilling.
The time is NOW for Governor Hogan’s leadership in protecting and preserving our coastal jobs, ecosystems, and communities. Send your message today urging our Governor to stand with people and oppose offshore drilling as part of Maryland’s clean energy future!

The actions taken in Annapolis impact every part of our state. They can protect our farms, forests, rivers, beaches, and lakes – or allow for further harm. It’s up to us to make sure our legislators represent our values in protecting our air, land, water, and public health.
