Maryland LCV Supporters Making Huge Impacts

We are thrilled to announce that long-time Maryland LCV Education Fund supporters, Trish and Mike Davis, have been named Philanthropist of the Year in Anne Arundel County for their outstanding support of environmental and humanitarian nonprofit organizations.

The Community Foundation of Anne Arundel County presents this award annually to an individual, family, or family foundation with a proven record of exceptional generosity who has demonstrated outstanding civic and philanthropic responsibility through direct substantial financial support, exemplary leadership in advancing philanthropy, and whose generosity encourages others to become philanthropic leaders.

Maryland LCV Education Fund led the nomination for Trish and Mike Davis with the support of several other local non-profit organizations. 

25 years of giving to the community

Focusing on environmental and humanitarian nonprofit organizations, Trish and Mike Davis have been active in the community for over 25 years. They have generously supported 22 causes, volunteered over countless hours between the two of them, and provided hands-on executive level mentorship to at least 5 organizations – specifically executive directors that they identified as potential for great growth and expanded impact in our local community.

Providing transformational support

In particular, their generosity in the assistance of Maryland LCV Education Fund / Maryland LCV during a transition of leadership, creation of a multi-year strategic plan and implementation of a new and invigorated vision is invaluable. Mike’s contribution as a volunteer Maryland LCV board member donating time and talent to this process cannot be overstated. He served on the selection committee to hire a new executive director and thereby reviewed dozens of resumes and participated in numerous interviews. He offered a unique, business savvy perspective that is often missing from non-profits.

There is no doubt that Mike’s generosity in sharing his skills, knowledge and talents had a significant impact on our growth and successes. 

Additionally Mike has served as Board Treasurer of Maryland LCV from 2015 to 2023. He also served as Finance and Development Committee Chairs and together Mike and Trish have provided 16 years of financial support to Maryland LCV / Maryland LCV Education Fund.

Mike and Trish’s support has been equally transformational for several other nonprofit organizations throughout Anne Arundel County, showcasing their profound devotion to environmental conservation.

In addition to providing their own financial support, both Trish and Mike have provided exemplary leadership in encouraging others to take philanthropic roles in our local community.
