Friday Digest: Sept. 29 The Maryland Climate Pathway Report
The Climate Solutions Now Act of 2022 positioned Maryland as a climate leader, with the most ambitious short term targets of reducing our greenhouse gas emissions 60% by 2031. The Maryland Department of the Environment (MDE) is now in the process of writing the state’s climate plan to reach this goal. In a recent report called Maryland’s Climate Pathway, the University of Maryland Center for Global Sustainability modeled a number of policy options and concluded it will take an “all of society approach” for us to reach these goals.
Responding to Maryland’s Climate Pathway is an important step in supporting state leadership reaching 100% clean energy by 2035. The input we provide as part of this process will help inform policy for the next 8 years. MDE needs to hear from you before October 15 and we want to make it easy for you to share your thoughts. Use the following letter, which you can personalize, to make your voice heard today. Submit the form and we will forward to MDE along with all the other comment letters.
Watch our latest Friday Digest where we provide an overview of the report and answer questions from the audience on the best ways to make sure our voice is heard.
