Maryland League of Conservation Voters Endorses Anthony Brown for Attorney General

Nonprofit also announces 17 new endorsements for General Assembly

(Annapolis, MD) – Today the Maryland League of Conservation Voters (Maryland LCV) endorsed Anthony Brown for Attorney General. The organization also released its latest series of candidate endorsements (list attached below) for the Maryland General Assembly in the 2022 state general election.

“Congressman Anthony Brown has a long career of public service and commitment to the state of Maryland and has consistently been a leading voice on justice and equity matters,” said Maryland LCV Executive Director Kim Coble. “We are excited to work with him to protect Maryland’s land, air, water, and communities.”

Brown served as Lieutenant Governor from 2007-2015, and prior to that, served eight years in the General Assembly, rising to the positions of Vice Chairman of the Judiciary Committee and Majority Whip of the House of Delegates. He currently serves in the U.S. House of Representatives, representing Prince George’s and Anne Arundel Counties.

“As Maryland’s next Attorney General, I’ll fight to ensure every Marylander has access to clean water, clean air, and the security of knowing that their future and their children’s futures are secure from the threat of climate change,” said Congressman Anthony G. Brown. “That means holding polluters accountable and prioritizing the enforcement of environmental protections. Working alongside the League of Conservation voters, I’ll act with a sense of urgency every day to protect our environment and secure a healthy, green future for our state.”

Before each state election, the Maryland League of Conservation Voters (Maryland LCV) board of directors and staff evaluate candidates’ responses to comprehensive questionnaires and conduct extensive interviews with dozens of candidates for office, including comptroller, attorney general, and governor as well as candidates for the Maryland House of Delegates and Senate. In the 2022 General election, Maryland LCV will once again campaign to elect pro-conservation candidates.
