In Their Words …
" Keeper of political scorecards on environmental votes, this small but feisty group actually endorses candidates who might be good for green causes. Its small staff proves that you don't need a huge budget to make a difference. Still, more money couldn't hurt. "

A Low Maintence Lawn

Corsica River ConservancyGood for you. Good for the Bay.

Are you spending money for fertilizer your lawn doesn't need and polluting our rivers and streams?

Adopt a Low-Maintenance Approach to Lawn Care.

  1. Do a soil test. Know what your soil needs before fertilizing.
  2. Fertilize only in the Fall. Use a slow-release fertilizer.
  3. Keep the mowing height at 3". This will shade out weeds and won't stress the roots.
  4. Leave grass clipings on the lawn. After two years, fertilization can be reduced by 25%. This is called "grass cycling".
