Cindy Schwartz - Executive Director
Cindy Schwartz most recently served as Senior Vice President for State Outreach at the National League of Conservation Voters. In the 2004 presidential elections Ms. Schwartz ran the Environmental Victory Project field effort, which involved over 200 staff, engaged over 18,000 volunteers and contacted 1.3 million voters at the door. Cindy lives in Silver Spring with her husband and their son.
Dawn Stoltzfus - Deputy Director
Dawn manages communications, publications, public relations, and development programs. Prior to coming to the Maryland LCV, she worked as Publications and E-Communications Manager for the Chesapeake Bay Foundation. Before that she worked as an editor at Rowman & Littlefield Press in Lanham, MD. She graduated with honors from West Chester University in Pennsylvania with a Bachelor's Degree in English Literature, minor in Creative Writing. She has volunteered for political campaigns and is actively involved with the Anne Arundel Literacy Council. Dawn lives in Annapolis.
Aaron Mintzes - Legislative and Political Manager
Aaron lobbies for environmental legislation, coordinates coalition efforts and events, manages accountability programs, and runs the Maryland LCV's political campaigns. Prior to joining Maryland LCV, Aaron worked for Clean Water Action and served on the re-election campaign team of Congresswoman Jan Schakowsky (D-IL9). Aaron received his J.D. in 2003 from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Law and his B.A. in Philosophy from Vassar College in 2000. Aaron remains active in environmental organizations in Baltimore where he lives and cheers for the Orioles.
Jen Brock-Cancellieri - Outreach Manager
Jen is responsible for managing field operations, grassroots online advocacy, overseeing issue and public education campaigns, and coordinating voter mobilization programs. She was formerly the National Coordinator for the Genetic Engineering Action Network in Boston and Director of Organizational Development for the Gulf Restoration Network in Louisiana. She is a Green Corps alumni and she later worked as a Green Corps Recruitment Director. Jen graduated from Mary Washington College in Virginia with a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science. She lives in Baltimore with her husband.
Ryan Ewing - Field Organizer
Ryan is building grassroots support for environmental issues, managing volunteers, and working with local groups in Maryland--primarily on the Eastern Shore. Prior to his recent return to Maryland, Ryan worked as the Maine Action Netork Coordinator for the Natural Resources Council of Maine and served on the Town Council of Brunswick, Maine. During the 2004 elections, Ryan worked as a field organizer on the Eastern Shore. He graduated from McDaniel College in 2001 with a Bachelor's degree in Political Science and Theatre Arts and as a student served as a General Assembly Intern. Ryan lives in Easton.
Kim Dissen - Administrative Assistant
Kim is responsible for assisting office staff, running office operations, and assisting with projects whenever needed. Prior to moving to Maryland, Kim was a middle school counselor in Rochester, NY. She has a master’s degree in counselor education. She has been home with her son and daughter for the past 7 years. Kim lives in Arnold with her husband, children and her dog Winnie.
